The Cradle of Forestry Foundation
The Cradle of Forestry Foundation was established in 2003 as a financial support organization to assist with sustainable funding for the activities and mission of the Cradle of Forestry Interpretive Association.
Almost all of the special events, educational and interpretative activities and outreach classes provided by the Interpretive Association require funds outside of the federally funded maintenance of the Cradle of Forestry grounds.
The Cradle of Forestry Foundation has two primary goals:
- To support the ongoing program of the Cradle of Forestry Interpretive Association and its partners through gifts, grants and donations.
- To establish an Endowment to provide a continuous means of support for these programs, and to assure the perpetuity of the active pursuit of the Interpretive Association’s mission.
Private individuals have pledged over $1,000,000 to the Cradle of Forestry Foundation. Currently $500,000 has been set aside in an Endowment Fund to begin generating income that may be applied to maintain and expand the on-going work of forest conservation education.
The Cradle of Forestry Foundation has also secured almost a half million dollars in grant support for education and development projects, including the Strategic Plan for the Cradle of Forestry in America site, the Natural Inquirer, Landscape Management System and the Woodland Owner Short Course.
The Cradle of Forestry Foundation is seeking to raise an endowment of $5,000,000 which will generate revenue to support the Interpretive Association programs. You are invited to join us in supporting our mission of sharing the many sciences that go into the wise management of our forest resources and to support our programs for teachers and children in the sciences and arts of forestry.
