Cradle of Forestry Admission

  • $6.00 regular admission
  • Free for youth ages 4-12
  • Half price for America the Beautiful annual and lifetime passholders and up to three guests.
  • *FREE for Friends of the Cradle of Forestry and 4th Grade Every Kid in a Park passes

*Exceptions to general admission are for some special events such as: In Search of Blue Ghosts Firefly Tours, Songcatchers Music Series, and The Legend of Tommy Hodges.

Cradle of Forestry Hours


Open every Wednesday through Sunday (closed Monday & Tuesdays), 10am to 4pm. During this phase of reopening, our gift shop, restrooms, and 3 miles of paved interpretive trails are open to visitors.

The Cradle of Forestry in America Heritage Site is located near Brevard, NC and Asheville, NC within Pisgah National Forest on Hwy. 276 North, 4 Miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway at Mile Marker 412, and 3.5 miles from Sliding Rock.
